Among the first issues addressed are the notion of tradition and its interpretations in architecture. The question of identity. Understanding what is and is not authentic in a changing world. We will also talk about imagery. And finally, the theme of colonisation and its impact on architectural forms.
Three parts:
I- A history of Egypt through the lens architectural evolution
II- The various interpretations of tradition in philosophy and the perspective of an Egyptian architect.
III- Case study on Luxor.
