It questions the complex dynamics between land management and nature conservation, seeking to determine whether national parks are genuine ecological solutions or instruments of territorial control. It explores the impact of colonialism and other cultural factors, such as naturalism, on biodiversity. It highlights divergences between Western and indigenous practices.
