Dans S\u00e9miotique du Design de Anne Beyaert-Geslin, l’autrice \u00e9voque une distinction entre la sculpture occidentale sollicitant une exploration concentrique et la sculpture africaine :<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

“[…], elle tient l’observateur immobile et la repousse devant elle, ce qui a pour effet de repenser le volume et, le rabatant sur les deux directions de la profondeur, vers l’avant et vers l’arri\u00e8re, tend \u00e0 accuser le ventre et le derri\u00e8re de la statue.”<\/em><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Cette mani\u00e8re d’aborder un objet sculptural a attir\u00e9 mon attention et m’a pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 me pencher sur ce type de statues sacr\u00e9es puis plus sp\u00e9cifiquement aux Totems. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Studying interior architecture and design was a way for me to give meaning to this passion. This free exercise allowed me to explore this obsession further. I was particularly interested in totem sculpture and its unique aura. This led me to explore what place these objects can occupy in a home.
