Entre ciel et mer \u2014 <\/strong>

un lieu pour transporter les visiteurs vers l\u2019espace, pour s\u2019\u00e9vader et porter son regard vers l\u2019inconnu \u2026<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Ce projet porte sur la r\u00e9habilitation d’un ancien s\u00e9maphore au Cap Sici\u00e9, pr\u00e8s de Toulon.

Mais la premi\u00e8re chose que j’ai vue quand je suis arriv\u00e9 sur le site n’\u00e9tait pas les ruines, mais l’immensit\u00e9 de la mer et l\u2019infini du ciel. Un endroit magique au c\u0153ur de deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Depuis des mill\u00e9naires, la mer a \u00e9t\u00e9 le territoire des marins, les \u00e9toiles dans le ciel indiquaient la voie, et le vent poussait les navires \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte de nouveaux continents. Aujourd’hui, notre plan\u00e8te nous est famili\u00e8re et nous tournons notre regard vers l’inaccessible – l’espace. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

J\u2019ai transform\u00e9 la tour du b\u00e2timent sup\u00e9rieur en observatoire de l\u2019espace, rappelant une fus\u00e9e pr\u00eate \u00e0 d\u00e9coller. Le b\u00e2timent inf\u00e9rieur est devenu un espace multifonctionnel avec des points de vue permettant d’admirer les paysages, comme sur le pont d’un navire, et des m\u00e2ts en bois soutenant une immense voile. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Le soir, cette voile se transforme en \u00e9cran de cin\u00e9ma pour des projections de films de science-fiction, de documentaires scientifiques et des images d’observation des \u00e9toiles captur\u00e9es par le t\u00e9lescope num\u00e9rique de l’observatoire. L’espace entre les deux b\u00e2timents a \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9nag\u00e9 en une agora, un lieu de rencontre pour les visiteurs. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Ce nouveau lieu entre ciel est mer rena\u00eetra comme un espace de d\u00e9tente, d\u2019\u00e9vasion et de connaissance.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

La couleur principale choisie pour le projet est l’orange : la combinaison spatiale du premier homme dans l’espace, des souvenirs d’enfance ou des bateaux de sauvetage se pr\u00e9cipitant \u00e0 travers la temp\u00eate pour porter secours.\n<\/figcaption>\n <\/article>\n\n

CUISINE ET BIBLIOTH\u00c8QUE

La cuisine du b\u00e2timent est enti\u00e8rement r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en plastique recycl\u00e9. Le processus et la production ont lieu dans la Dr\u00f4me, pr\u00e8s de Valence, dans le sud de la France. Fab Unit recycle des cano\u00ebs broy\u00e9s pour les transformer en plaques de plastique, utilisables ensuite dans la fabrication de meubles. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

C\u2019est formidable : les vieux cano\u00ebs deviennent de nouveaux objets utiles. Pour les meubles, j\u2019ai opt\u00e9 pour du plastique de couleur orange-jaune, tandis que pour les tables et les tabourets de la cuisine, j\u2019ai choisi un ton noir-gris, \u00e9voquant les \u00e9toiles dans le ciel nocturne.

LES \u00c9OLIENNES<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Cet endroit, ce projet, ne consomme pas seulement de l\u2019\u00e9nergie, il en produit aussi, en utilisant deux des \u00e9l\u00e9ments naturels les plus puissants et essentiels de notre r\u00e9gion : le vent et le soleil.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Dans le sud de la France on observe la plus haute efficacit\u00e9 des \u00e9oliennes gr\u00e2ce au c\u00e9l\u00e8bre Mistral et d\u2019autres facteurs. C\u2019est pourquoi je d\u00e9veloppe mes \u2018Ailes du Vent\u2019, constitu\u00e9es de murs \u00e9quip\u00e9s de mini-\u00e9oliennes, une proposition initiale du designer Joe Doucet.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Chaque mur peut accumuler suffisamment d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour alimenter en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 une maison de 60 m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s. J\u2019ai neuf de ces murs, et l\u2019\u00e9nergie ainsi collect\u00e9e alimente l\u2019observatoire et le cin\u00e9ma.

CANOTS DE SAUVETAGE

Le long du pont a\u00e9rien du b\u00e2timent-navire, j\u2019ai install\u00e9 des si\u00e8ges temporaires qui prennent la forme soit de canots de sauvetage, soit de bou\u00e9es de sauvetage. Les visiteurs du complexe peuvent s\u2019y isoler seuls, \u00e0 deux ou m\u00eame \u00e0 trois, par exemple avec un enfant. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Ces canots sont fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 partir du m\u00eame plastique recycl\u00e9 que celui utilis\u00e9 pour la cuisine du b\u00e2timent principal. Les dossiers hauts des canots assurent la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des personnes assises et les prot\u00e8gent \u00e9galement du Mistral.

La fixation \u00e0 un poteau en bois des m\u00e2ts de soutien permet de changer les objets fix\u00e9s dessus chaque saison, en fonction de l\u2019occasion, etc.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Dans le cadre de la pr\u00e9sentation du projet, une maquette \u00e0 l’\u00e9chelle 1:50 a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e, devenant le centre de la sc\u00e9nographie tant pour la soutenance devant le jury que pour la journ\u00e9e portes ouvertes.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Thus, the tower of the ancient semaphore becomes an observatory, reminiscent of a rocket about to launch. Below, an open-air cinema screen is evocative of a sailing boat with its large masts. There, viewers will watch science and science fiction films, as well as live stargazing broadcasts from the observatory\u2019s digital telescope.
